Using Data to Inform Administrative Change
A college in Upstate New York regularly seeks to add new master’s and doctoral programs and courses to their offerings in order to keep pace with industry and student demand. To support the college in ensuring their programming decisions are as informed as possible, Hezel Associates has conducted multiple studies to compile market data and gather perspectives from various stakeholders to assess potential programs for feasibility. Our team consolidated data on related federal and state wage and employment; conducted surveys of current, potential, and former students regarding their opinions on prospective programs; analyzed institutional data; and assessed the competitive landscape for each potential new program. In our final reports and presentations, we communicated the insights gained and facilitated a discussion with the college’s administrators about the most feasible program options.
