Improving Grant Implementation and Assessing Student Outcomes through Evaluation
A nearby school district came to us with the need to provide quality programming for its students, both during and after-school. To meet this need, the district used a 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) grant to implement after-school activities, as well as services to families, at various schools in the district. This work is centered on partnerships with community-based organizations that give students enrichment experiences and academic support. Not only did this involve the work of teachers and administrators, but required strong connections to families and the community.
Hezel Associates conducts all evaluation activities associated with the grant, assessing how well the district meets its program objectives. Further, we provide a snapshot of program impact, looking at key indicators such as attendance and behavior. Our continued feedback assists the district in making informed improvements during the school year and in preparation for each subsequent year of the grant.
